OPD5 CEO/General Manager MeLisa Garcia was among about two dozen Mesquite community leaders who met with Rep. Steven Horsford on Friday, Jan. 29 at the Mesquite STEAM Center.
During the meeting, Horsford spent time fielding a variety of questions and requests on community needs and issues.
Garcia expressed appreciation for recent help from Horsford’s staff in successfully negotiating public lands right-of-way issues with Bureau of Land Management officials on OPD5’s behalf. She also expressed the need for permanent federal permitting reform which would simplify the construction of utility infrastructure and save on expenses which must be passed on to rural ratepayers.
